PHILADELPHIA, August 17, 2009 – The Corner Bakery Cafe announced today that it has promoted Tom Dobson to the position of managing partner of the 17^th and JFK restaurant in Philadelphia.

Tom has been a member of the Corner Bakery team for the past seven years, playing a vital role in each of the local eastern Pennsylvania restaurants, including King of Prussia, Philadelphia and Ardmore locations, and assisting in opening the Lehigh Valley location. He has been the general manager since 2005, most recently for the 17^th and JFK location and King of Prussia prior to that. He was responsible for maintaining all of the restaurant’s operations, including retail and catering, and overseeing more than 30 employees. He began working for the company in 2002 as assistant manager in King of Prussia. Prior to joining Corner Bakery Cafe he was a former U.S. Army Specialist, spending time in Anchorage, Alaska as a food service specialist.

 

Dobson is a member of The President’s Council, a select group of employees chosen nationwide by the company President as an in-house advisory group to address human resources issues. 

 

A Bucks County resident, Dobson earned an Associate’s degree in Hotel Restaurant Management from Montgomery County Community College. He is married and has two children.
